I love the theme of the contest…there are so many amazing people who have written and shared so many wise words.

Nelson Mandela was not perfect, but he is definitely one of the greatest leaders of the century. He once said:

“I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.”

We all like to be tough but this really inspires me to be real and have courage!

The picture is from a time when Mandela went back to visit the cell on Robben Island where he was jailed for 18 years. He certainly had his share of struggles which is why his quote is so powerful.
