I have been watching the Western governments and given that I think they know everything that matters, I have assumed the world is about to end. Given the way they are spending money and borrowing, I have decided that they believe in the old idea that it would be dumb to die with unused credit on your Mastercard. Is there any other rational theory that completely explains their behaviour?
